Gwynhala (Clan Brujah)

Condemned as a heretic by men, embraced as a visionary by childer of Caine, his true faith manifests God's mercy -- and wrath.

Description:

Dispassionate. Pedantic. Wise. Strangely charismatic.

Mad?

His appearance is unimposing. Both Turkish and Germanic blood shaped his mortal form. He stands about 5' 7", middle-aged, with dark hair and eyes. The eyes are vaguely almond-shaped, due to a fold of skin at the outer corner of each. His build, average but bespeaking one who has done much hard manual work.

Some characterize the Brujah as bullies and rebels. In him these traits are expressed not so much physically, as intellectually. Although his ideas are radical, he will debate you into the ground.

Some speak of the Brujah affinity for mortal companionship. Certainly this must be true fo this kindred, for his appearance is human even to the point of breath in his breast and the color of mortal life in his flesh.

Some say the Brujah are nothing if not passionate. And here, Gwynhala is nothing. A passionate man in life, the very capacity for passion eludes him now. In its place, a True Faith in God and a singleness of purpose that move him along his path with the logic and precision of one who does not believe, but rather, knows.

"But can he fight?" a younger Brujah would ask.

(Ok, enough with the pretty poetry already. For a contemporary handle on Gwynhala's Brujahadain personality, try crossing Kai [last of the Brunnen G] from "LEXX" with Veronica [hellspawn with True Faith] from "Dark Angel - The Ascent." If you haven't seen either of these, I pity you...)

Background:

Gwynhala was born in the early 4th century in Cappadocia, now Turkey, son to a Cappadocian Christian and the Gothic warrior who took her as his slave. He was raised among the Goths, and later returned to them as a Christian missionary preaching the new heretical Arian Christianity, which denies the Trinity. Sometime during his missionary work, he was embraced.

Later he traveled the world, or at least ranged from Alaska to North Africa, evidently spending a lot of time with tribal elders and medicine men, collecting the stories which he seems to relish retelling -- always with a moral.

Little else is known about his background.
